Tom Miller’s photographs, through fetish and power posing, are set against environments where character “could be”, playing into the fantasy of hyper masculinity while honouring everything that is stereotyped to be sexy about being a man. Tom explores how the environmental context and the way we dress can change meaning and believability of each scene and heighten sexual arousal through images.
The images play into the deepest sexual desires we have about male dominance and masculine power but are often not allowed to play into or admire because it would be taboo. Tom allows the viewer to feel that arousal in the context of art, by making it acceptable and pleasurable.
